Arise Collective, a new grassroots community development organization based in Bed Stuy, is organizing an exciting community event. On December 19th Arise Collective presents Drive for the Stuy, a benefit for the Bed Stuy Campaign Against Hunger. The event will include a food and coat drive, silent auction, live grafitti painting, DJs, live hip-hop and apppearances by members of the FELA! Broadway musical. The event will be hosted by Toni Blackman, the United States Hip Hop Ambassador.
Items up for silent auction include:
-Gift Certificate to Embora Health & Wellness Center,a world renowned yoga center based in Fort Greene
-Gift Certificate to Angel Feet Reflexology, the first reflexology salon in New York
-Hobby Horse print (3 color handpulled on orchid paper) donated by Brooklynite Gallery
-Knitting/Crochet work done by Zwati Rucks
-Belly Dancing classes from Belly Dancing for Change
-Vintage East African Batik (2 pieces), donated by Gerry Chisolm
-1 Hour Guitar Lesson from Travis Tench,
-Street/Pop Art from Justin Norris
